FAQ
Simple answers before the beta.
S3XY.rent keeps the pilot simple: owners publish item pages, requesters send verified item requests, and people agree handoff details directly.
What is S3XY.rent?
S3XY.rent is a hosted item page and lending ledger. It helps people list items, share QR codes, remember who has what, and collect item requests from friends, neighbours, communities, or occasional rental customers.
Does S3XY.rent handle item payments?
No. If an item exchange involves money, deposits, insurance, damage terms, pickup, or return details, people agree those directly outside S3XY.rent.
Is a request guaranteed?
No. A request tells the owner what you want and which dates you need. It does not reserve, pay for, or guarantee the item.
Can someone request an item without an account?
Yes. Requests use a one-time email code check before they reach the owner. A requester account is optional during the pilot.
How many photos can an item have?
Electron, Proton, and Collider keep one clear photo per item. Fleet supports up to four photos for richer item galleries.
What is a personal item ledger?
It is the owner-side record for each item: availability, blocked dates, handoff notes, and request history. It works for things you lend to friends and for items you occasionally rent out.
Does S3XY.rent message requesters for owners?
The dashboard prepares useful email copy, but the owner still sends the message from their own mail app.
Are S3XY.rent owner plans paid?
All owner plans are free during the launch pilot. Future paid accounts are for more item slots, photos, richer records, and owner tools, not for processing item payments.
